Early in the year, I learned the importance of how camera work is done without to much movement of the camera and what kind of shot will be good to use in some type of situation. You can see that in my first film, I didn't do this because the camera was not looing straight at the person, the camera was not placed at the right shot to give a good camera shot. On my second project i learned put sounds and music in our videos to give that extra feeling to people when they watch it. A scene that shows this well is in the film called "Cyberbully" when Mr.Schalhorn is talking about why is cyberbullying happening in school. Later in the year I showed that i really had learned that concept well, since I showed this in other projects. One good example is from "The Water is Wide" in the scene when it says "And with his head" we made a picture of a head change colors and look more terrified then what the line says.
The things I believe i did and learn in making videos and from watching them was how to create a special shot and the background if it went with it or not. Also the work i did in class was how to make my best videos with the most video and audio effects I can put in my video. And the people who were our actors to act as your character and to make the video more realistic for everyones entertainment.

Jabberwocky
Reflection for "Jabberwocky": Which special effect did you use best? The best special effect i used on this video was when the head turned from normal colors solarized colors this effect is called solarized the bigger the number on the effect control the more solarized it becomes. Describe what effect you used and why you think this worked. This effect worked because the line was "and with his head" shows a pic of a head but with the effect it made it look more like scary in a way or at least something different. This worked because it changed the mood to something scary to something creepy. What mood were you trying to communicate? We were trying to make the mood scared because its about a monster who kills well that was our part of the Jabberwocky stanza. What idea were you trying to show by using this image and effect? The idea we were trying to show was like a killer who lives in the woods who hunts and kills his prey. First he kills them ,then eats it, then a the end he leaves the head of the pray there by itself on the ground. Labels: reflection, Jabberwocky, special_effects

Special Effect 2
You can use this in a POV shot were a character is going crazy and his vision is messed up by using drugs or being hit in the head really hard. To get this effect you need to import a video clip onto the project panel. Then you need to edit the clip to your desired length in the source panel. Then you drag the video clip onto the timeline. After you need to open the folder called Video Effects under the “Effects”. Then you open the folder “Distort” and you go down to the Lens Distortion effect and drag it onto the clip you want to add the effect for on the timeline. To edit the effect you go on the Effect Controls tab in the source panel and expand the Lens Distortion folder. Then you click on any toggle animation you want and mess around with the numbers until you get your desired effect.
Special effects 1
You can use this in a scary film to have a stronger effect of fear. To get this effect you need to import a video clip onto the project panel. Then you need to edit the clip to your desired length in the source panel. Then you drag the video clip onto the timeline. After you need to open the folder called Video Effects under the “Effects”. Response to the Reflection
This post is from Michaela and Eddie
The positive comments that were most meaningful to us were from Michaela and Cole. (Two different posts, not a pair saying one thing). And Brad and Chris told us that they really liked the cafeteria establishing shot, and that was helpful because it made us feel good about the choice of using the cafeteria and it made it look realistic. In addition John and Jocelyn told us that We should add more music when Michaela enters to make it seem like she’s the nice girl., and that helped us see that We need more music in our video at key points.
The two best suggestions we got were from Brad and Chris and Blanca and Michelle (again, two suggestions from different posts, a pair saying one thing).
Brad and Chris suggested that we cut a little off the clip of the new kid looking sad. We agree with this suggestion, and our plan to address it is to look for a place to cut it shorter.
Blanca and Michelle suggested that we have some Dialogue between Eddie and Michaela. We agree with this suggestion, and our plan to address it is too we might discuss re filming some parts if necessary. .

Good Values
I think our video for this good values was ok. We used real life locations like the cafeteria and a class room in Dr.A's. We created really good clips like when Michaela first stepped to the cafeteria and sat with the cool people. And the shot of me in the back with Ivy and Michaela turning their shoulders and both look at me at the same time. I especialy liked the clip of me of a close up saying hi to Michaela. My job in this group was to search for the perfect sound and music to add to this video. I went to Jamendo.com and tried to find good music but it was kind of hard baecause we tried looking for a type that would be sad to try and go with the clips of me when im looking sad in the cafeteria. Then i tried to look for the music for the ending. Like when Michaela comes and sits next to me to look for some song happy. But we had trouble with the recording sound we got from the camera it was all static and just a buzzing sound. But over all it was a good video. I think I could have done better as an actor i just go really shy with the camera looking at me. And for next time to try the sound before we tape and cut.

Describe how your group planned your shots. What realizations did you make about the kind of planning that needs to happen BEFORE you shoot? First we though of a specific location to look formal. Then we planned our shots from me or Dylan to look over my shoulder or over his. Then we tried doing a rule of thirds, but the shot was not accurate.
Look at the composition of your over the shoulder shots. Did you follow the rule of thirds? Why or why not?
The over the shoulder shots were at good positions but not good enough for a rule of thirds. Me and Dylan were a little to much to side of the shot and the grid didnt get our faces or head directly.
What IMPRESSIONS do the over the shoulder shots create about the characters? How does this work?
They create attitude towards the character to make it sound like conversation about the two people. It also shows character and expressions of each character. Like when you cut of after someone says something to the other person it changes the dialog to the other person talking.
How realistic does the dialogue seem in the final edit? What challenges did you have in editing?
The dialog was sloppy because we did not cut the clips at that exact position that they need to be in. And at the end we tried to edit the clip to a dialog to a cut to a no dailog so we can see the other person's reaction.
Is there a dominant mood or tone to your video? What is that mood or tone? How did you accomplish this?
We didnt have a mood to set up it was just a regular formal conversation. A dominat mood was to try to make this video look funny. We didnt really accomplish this because there was no music to add to the mood it was just a boring mood conversation.
What other observations do you have about using over the shoulder shots? The ability to cut a clip when someone is talking then cuts to someone else who is talking to him. I think that this rule of over the shoulder is a good idea to use when there is a conflict or just a conversation to get both point of views from those same both people.
What other ideas got emphasized or reinforced about how to make effective videos from doing this exercise?
The idea i got from this is to make a real life music video from start with two people talking to each other and singing to each other from over their shoulder so we can see their facial expressions and the person he is singing it too.
